* Yungaisi material: This is the 'ceiling' of Hubei turquoise! It's renowned for its high-porcelain, high-blue color, extremely high degree of silicification (jade-like quality), and fine, web-like matrix lines or no matrix lines at all. I remember 10 years ago, a piece of excellent Yungaisi 'Wulan Hua' (black matrix pattern) might have been around a hundred yuan per gram. Now? Good quality pieces have easily surpassed a thousand yuan per gram, or even more! Its density generally ranges from 2.7-2.9g/cm³, and its hardness is between 5-6. You can feel that heavy, substantial feel and warm, jade-like texture in your hand. Many veteran collectors pride themselves on owning a piece of pure natural, untreated Yungaisi high-porcelain blue, which is a symbol of status! ✨
* Dongzigou material: The quality is also quite good, mostly high-porcelain blue and green. It's characterized by fine material and high porcelain-like quality, but its output is relatively less than Yungaisi.

My personal experience: The biggest characteristic of Hubei material is its 'porcelain-like quality' and 'jade-like feel'. Good Hubei material, when held, will have an oily luster, and after playing with it, it becomes even more lustrous and charming. However, the market is now flooded with a large number of treated, glued, and even synthetic imitations. When purchasing, be sure to keep your eyes peeled, find a reliable seller, and ideally, feel its density and coolness in person. 🧊

2️⃣ United States: The 'Blue Dream' of the Western Cowboy 🇺🇸

The southwestern United States, especially Arizona and Nevada, are also world-renowned turquoise producing areas. American turquoise and Hubei turquoise have distinct styles, each with its own merits.

* Sleeping Beauty: This is the 'star product' of American turquoise! It's known for its pure sky blue color, almost no matrix lines, uniform color, and fine texture. Its name comes from the shape of the mine, which resembles a reclining Sleeping Beauty. The Sleeping Beauty mine closed in 2012, so pure natural Sleeping Beauty is becoming increasingly rare, and its price has soared. However, its historical and cultural value is extremely high, and it can be seen in many ancient Egyptian pharaonic ornaments. The Egyptian turquoise circulating in the market now is very rare, and more often, it's collected as historical artifacts.

My personal experience: Egyptian turquoise is more about sentiment and historical accumulation. If you encounter something claiming to be natural Egyptian turquoise, be very cautious, as its output and circulation are extremely small. 🔍

The Neyshabur region of Iran is also a world-renowned turquoise producing area, with thousands of years of mining history.

* Neyshabur: Iranian turquoise is famous for its unique 'Persian blue' color, which is pure and has a fine texture, some with exquisite matrix lines. Its blue color is between Hubei high-blue and American Sleeping Beauty, with a unique exotic charm. Many antique European jewels feature Iranian turquoise.

My personal experience: The quality of Iranian turquoise is also quite high, but due to geopolitical factors and other reasons, its market circulation is not as high as Hubei and American turquoise. If you encounter good quality Iranian turquoise, it's also worth acquiring. 🌟
